PawTrails Privacy Policy

Effective 9 July 2026. PawTrails is operated by RUMY FRIEND LLC ("we", "us").

PawTrails helps dog owners find, review, and record dog friendly trails and off leash spots. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Account information. If you create an account, we store your email address, chosen display name, and sign in method (email and password, or Sign in with Apple). You can use most of the app as a guest without an account.
• Location. With your permission, we use your device location to show nearby trails and to record a walk you choose to track. Recording can use location in the background only while a recording is active. Location is used to power these features and is not sold.
• Content you submit. Photos, reviews, ratings, condition check ins, and community spots you add. This content is public to other users by design.
• Diagnostic data. Basic, non identifying logs to keep the app working.

How we use your information

• To provide core features: trails, maps, weather, favorites, reviews, photos, and recorded walks.
• To operate accounts and sign in, including email verification and passwordless links.
• To keep the community safe: showing, reporting, and removing user content, and blocking or banning users who violate our guidelines.

How your information is stored and shared

We use Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Functions) to store your account, your content, and app data. We also use:

• Apple for Sign in with Apple, WeatherKit weather data, and Maps.
• OpenStreetMap contributors for trail and map data.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. Data is processed and stored on Google and Apple infrastructure, which may be located in the United States and other countries.

Public content and moderation

Reviews, photos, ratings, check ins, and spots you post are visible to other users. Anyone can report content, and you can block another user to hide their content from your app. We remove content that breaks our community guidelines and may ban repeat offenders. Reported content is auto hidden once it reaches a report threshold and reviewed by us.

Your choices and rights

• Delete your account. In the app, go to Profile and choose Delete account. This removes your account and associated personal data.
• Location. You can grant or revoke location access at any time in the iOS Settings app.
• Access and corrections. Contact us to request a copy of your data or a correction.

Data retention

We keep your account and content until you delete them or ask us to. Public content you posted may remain visible until removed. Backups may persist for a limited period after deletion.

Children

PawTrails is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because the app includes user generated content, it is rated for older users in the App Store.

Security

We use industry standard measures, including access controls and encrypted transport, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
